INGREDIENTS
- 1 package (1/4 ounce) Active Dry Yeast
- 2-3/4 cups warm Water (110 - 115 degress)
- 1/2 cup packed Brown Sugar
- 1/4 cup Butter (melted)
- 1-1/2 teas. Salt
- 1 teas. Cinnamon
- 1 Egg
- 4 cups Whole Wheat Flour
- 1 cup Graham Whole Wheat Flour (or) additional Whole Wheat Flour
- 3 to 3-1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 cup Golden Raisins
- 1 cup Sunflower Kernals
DIRECTIONS
In a mixing bowl, disolve yeast in warm water. Add the brown sugar, butter, salt, cinnamon, egg, 3 cups whole wheat flour and graham flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in remaining whole wheat flour and enough all-purpose to form a soft dough. Turn onto a floured surface, sprinkle with raisins and sunflower kernals, knead until smooth and elastic, about 8-10 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in warm place until doubled, about an hour. Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; divide in half. Shape into loaves. Place in 2 greased 9x5x3" loaf pans. Cover and let rise until double, about an hour. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until golen brown. Remove from pans to wire racks to cool.
