When I was a kid i used to stay at my friends house. Her grandmother would make this for us for dinner. I loved it!!! every now and then I make my kids love it!!!


  • 2 cups elbow macaroni or small shells
  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 15 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese


  • Preheat oven to 350. Cook macaroni according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a small sauce pan, combine oil and flour. Mix well. Add tomato sauce, garlic, onion, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Combine macaroni, tomato sauce mixture, and 1 1/2 cups of cheese. Put in a 2 quart casserole dish and top with remaining cheese. Put in a 350 degree oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
