  • 3 lime wedges
  • fine sea salt
  • 1 1/4 parts tequila
  • 3/4 part cointreau
  • 1 1/4 parts fresh lime juice
  • 4 - 5 ice cubes
  • lime slice, to decorate


  • dampen the rim of a chilled cocktail glass with one of the lime wedges
  • dip the rim into fine sea salt
  • pour the tequila, cointreau, and lime juice into a cocktail shaker
  • squeeze the juice from the remaining two lime wedges into the shaker
  • squeeze the wedges to release the oils in the skin then drop the wedges into the shaker
  • add the ice cubes
  • shake vigorously for about 10 seconds
  • strain the cocktail into the chilled glass
  • decorate with a lime slice
