- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 2 lbs powdered sugar
- 1/2 stick unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup crisco
- 1 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1tbs meraingue powder
- In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, butter, crisco and vanilla until smooth.Add the powdered sugar slowly until the right consistancy, and add 1sp Meringue Powder whip until well blended. then tint as desired.The best way to get your frosting nice and smooth is to use a high density foam roller[in the paint section]after it sets up smooth the roller across it I have a small one and a large one.
NotesI have used this frosting for all of my cakes. It is a really good crusting frosting for decorating your cakes.
