  • 1 1/2 c sugar
  • 3 T. flour
  • 2 eggs wel beaten
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 T. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 unbaked 9" pie shell
  • nutmeg to taste


  • combine sugar and flour in a large mixing bowl
  • add beaten eggs
  • stir in melted butter and buttermilk mixing well
  • add lemon juice and vanilla
  • pour into pie shell and grate nutmeg on top
  • place pie into center of oven at 425 degrees for 10 min
  • reduce heat to 350 and cont to bake for 35 min
  • serve at room temp
  • top with whip cream and strawberries optional


this came from my grandmother she used to make this pie every sunday that we came over to her house to eat sunday lunch at her house
