SIMPLE CARMELIZED ONIONS

Ingredients

  • 2 medium sized onions
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

Directions

  • peel onions
  • cut in half and place flat side on cutting board
  • slice lengthwise into thin strips
  • place onions, butter, salt and pepper into a large frying pan
  • place over medium-low heat, stirring every so often, for about 30 or 40 minutes onions are done when they are golden brown, sweet and tender
