- Servings: 1 litre (35fl oz)
- Preparation Time:
- 500g (1lb 2oz) sloes, washed and dried
- 300g (10 1/2 oz) sugar
- 2 cups gin
- Prick sloes with a fork or darning needle. Layer sloes and sugar in a large sterilised jar and pour gin over top. Cover jar and leave in a cool place. Shake jar each day for 7 days, then set aside for 6 months. Strain into sterilised bottles, reserving fruit. Freeze reserved sloes and add to fruit punch or consume frozen as a tasty treat.
- Beware: they are quite potent.
