Ingredients

1 large (1 lb. or more) bag mixed field greens (or equivalent washed, sliced, dried, and bagged leafy lettuces)
1/2 to 3/4 cup whole cashews in baggie
1/2 to 3/4 cup dried cherries (or cranberries; oranges are good, too, but be sure to have some red fruit) in baggie
1 small can French's French Fried Onions

Vinaigrette dressing:
Up to 1/4 cup good olive oil
Up to 1/4 cup balsamic or other specialty vinegar
1 to 2 T. honey
1 T. ginger puree or minced fresh ginger (I keep a small bottle of each on hand)
Cinnamon, cloves, basil (be creative here!)


To take this to a potluck, haul out your largest, prettiest salad bowl and salad tongs. Put the tongs, individual packages of ingredients, and tightly capped vinaigrette shaker into the bowl.
