Grand Mere Tart
INGREDIENTS
- Dough:
- 200 g flour
- 100 g butter
- 4 g salt
- 20 g sugar
- 1 Tbl. cold water
- 1 egg
- Filling:
- 2 apples, cubed
- 2 pears, cubed
- 50 g. walnuts, chopped
- 50 g pistachios, whole
- 60 g butter
- 60 g sugar
- 100 g cream
- toasted sliced almonds for garnish
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 350
- Cream flour and butter.
- add sugar and salt
- addpinch of vanilla powder
- add egg and water
- Partially blind bake.
- Filling:
- Caramelize butter and sugar, and add apples and pears and cook out.
- Add cream, reduce a bit
- Add nuts to warm through.
- Pour into prepared tart shell and bake at 350 for 35 minutes or until bubbling.
- Let cool, garnish with ground pistachios.
