Almond Milk
INGREDIENTS

  • Servings: 6 cups
  • Preparation Time: 15 minutes
  • 1/2 cup raw almonds
  • 6 cups cold water
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 6 packs splenda or 1/4 cup of sweetener of your choice
DIRECTIONS
  1. Use a nut or coffee grinder to grind the nuts into powder
  2. Place ground nuts and 2 cups water in blender. Blend on highest setting for a full 5 minutes
  3. Add rest of water and strain ( I use a metal tea strainer )
  4. Let milk sit for 2-3 minutes to allow solids to settle and then strain again
  5. Add vanilla and sweeter
RECIPE BACKSTORY
I have trouble with milk now ( not the lactose, the pills dont help ). Organics ok but expensive. This was an inexpensive solution that allows me to make fresh milk when I want it. super easy and takes about 10-15 minutes
