Apple Butter Cake

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 cups apple butter
DIRECTIONS
  1. Stir together flour, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon and ground cloves.
  2. Beat butter and sugar together until fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time.
  4. Combine buttermilk and apple butter.
  5. Add alternately with the flour mixture, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Pour into greased 9-inch round pans.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.
  8. Remove from pan.
  9. Cool thoroughly on cake rack.
  10. Frost with vanilla frosting.
