Apple Sauce
  • 4 lbs. cooking apples
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 to 1 cup sugar
  1. Peel, cut and core apples. Place apples in a 4 quart Duch oven; add water. Bring to boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 8-10 minutes or until tender. Remove from heat; mash apples with a potato masher til smooth. Stir in sugar. Spoon apples sauce into serving dishes or cover and refrigerate. Makes about 5 cups.
