Aunt Barbara's peach cobbler

INGREDIENTS
  • 2/3 to 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3 tbs shortening
  • 1 tbs corn starch
  • 4 cups of peaches
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup of milk
DIRECTIONS
  1. Mix sugar and cornstarch gradually
  2. Add water
  3. Bring to boil
  4. Boil for one minute
  5. Stirring Constantly
  6. Add fruit and juice dot with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon
  7. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt
  8. Cut in shortening until crumbly
  9. Mix in milk
  10. Dot On top of fruit to make crust
  11. Bake 25 to 30 minutes uncovered in 400° oven until crust is golden
