Bacon-Cheese Bars

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1/3 c Mayonnaise
  • 1 cup (1/4 lb) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce
  • 1/8 tsp dry mustard
  • dash pepper
  • 5 to six drops of hot sauce
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked & crumbled
  • 8 slices bread
  • Paprika
DIRECTIONS
  1. Combine first 7 ingredients; mix well. Stir in bacon;set aside.
  2. Remove crusts from bread. Toast bread slices lightly on both sides.
  3. Spread evenly with cheese mixture.
  4. Cut into 3 strips and sprinkle lightly with paprika. Place on cookie sheet.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
  6. Note: May be assembled several hours ahead, covered and placed in refrigerator.
  7. Let stand at room temp. 30 min, then bake as usual.
  8. This was given to me by a friend several years ago and I make it often when I have company for card parties or other gatherings and it is always all gone and have given the recipe out many times.
