Basic Marinara Sauce

- 1 28 oz. can whole Italian tomatoes, pureed
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup celery, chopped
- 1/2 cup carrot, chopped
- 1/4 cup basil, chopped, loosely packed
- 1/2 tsp. salt
DIRECTIONS
- Heat olive oil in a large pot.
- Cook onions on medium heat until soft and translucent.
- Add celery and carrot. Cook until soft.
- Add tomatoes, basil and salt and cook for 30 minutes.
