Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies
  • 3 sticks butter
  • 1 pound light brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 3 large egg whites (discard yolks)
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5 plus cups flour
  • 2 12 ounce bags chocolate chips
  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat with an electric mixer butter with both sugars and vanilla until very creamy. Add egg hites, soda and salt and blend well. Add all at one, 5 cups of flour. Begin mixing slowly to blend. Do not overbeat. Add all at oncce the 4 cups of chocolate chips, mixing gently until evenly blended. If dough is too "sticky" to roll into a smooth ball, add more flour, 1/3 cup at a time. Roll dough in 1 1/2 inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten each ball slightly with fingertips. Bake at 325 degrees for 10 minutes. Then turn cookie sheet around and bake 5-6 minutes more.
