Bread and Butter Pudding

- 4 slices bread
- margarine
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 4 Tbs. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 c. raisins
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees C (about 350 degrees F)
- Butter one side of the bread slices and cut them diagonally.
- Arrange bread in two individual ramikens, overlapping/layering the bread
- Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over bread
- Top with raisins
- Beat the eggs lightly in a bowl, adding milk
- Pour egg and milk mixture evenly over the bread
- Put the ramikens into the preheated oven
- Bake for 35 mins or till top is golden
- Best served hot
RECIPE BACKSTORY
My husband, a Brit, demanded I learn to make something "normal." He was always going on about bread and butter pudding, so I decided I had better learn to make it. For me, it was an acquired taste- but I know many people love it. This is the best recipe I have come across, and it is the one I now stick to. Very easy!
