INGREDIENTS
  • Cooking Time: 15-20min

  • Preparation Time: Overnight soak, 15min
  • Pre Soaked (6-8hrs) unsalted raw cashews
  • 1/2 c Eden chickpea water
  • chilled canned coconut cream
  • 2 tsp nutiva coconut garlic oil
  • 2 tbsp sari foods Nutritional yeast
  • 1 tbsp arrowroot starch
  • Diced onions (opt)
  • Seasoning- basil, onion, smoked paprika, garlic salt, red pepper spice
  • Blend until smooth and creamy
  • Heat in oven or stovetop (whisk if needed)
  • Stove 250-20m / stove 10m
DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat oven 250 degrees
  2. Light grease or glass baking bowl
  3. Drain presoaked cashews set aside
  4. Add chickpea water, coconut milk, coconut oil, spices, starch, then cashews to blender
  5. Blend until thick and creamy
  6. Pour into saucepan (stovetop m) or baking bowl
  7. Add diced onions and nutritional yeast, mix, then place in oven
  8. Heat on stove for 10min whisking occasionally, or bake for 10-15min at 250 degrees stirring occasionally
  9. Sauce will thicken as it cools
RECIPE BACKSTORY
This sauce has saved my cheese cravings- I use it in a bean n "cheese" burrito, Mac n "cheese", and broccoli "cheddar". Try it out!
