Candied Pork Chops
  • 6 lean pork chops
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  1. In bottom of 13x9 baking dish, spread 1 cup of brown sugar, top with 1/2 cup ketchup and sprinkle with 1/8 cup of lemon juice. Place pork chops on top of this layer. Repeat first step with brown sugar, ketchup and lemon juice over chops. Bake uncovered at 325 degrees for 1.5 hours, turning once half way through cook time. During the last 15 minutes of baking, increase oven temperature to 425 degrees to "candy" the pork chops.
  2. This is a great winter alternative to BBQ. It is great served with au gratin potatoes and green salad.
