Caramel Apple Pie
INGREDIENTS
  • 1/2 package (about 24) Kraft caramels
  • 1 Tablespoon milk
  • 9 inch graham cracker crust
  • 1/3 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 4 Tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 cup chunky apple sauce
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 1/2 cups (8oz) Cool Whip topping, thawed
DIRECTIONS
  1. Melt caramels with milk in small microwave safe bowl at high for 1 t 1 1/2 minutes, stir until smooth.
  2. Pour into crust, sprinkle with nuts. Cool.
  3. Beat cream cheese, sour cream and sugar until smooth, stir in apple sauce, vanilla and cinnamon.
  4. Fold in half of the whipped topping. Spread mixture over caramel layer in crust.
  5. Chill at least 4 hours.
  6. Garnish with remaining whipped topping, apple slices and melted caramels if desired.
  7. Store any left over pie in the refrigerator.
