Caramel Apple Pie

INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 package (about 24) Kraft caramels
- 1 Tablespoon milk
- 9 inch graham cracker crust
- 1/3 cup chopped nuts
- 1 (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 4 Tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 cup chunky apple sauce
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3 1/2 cups (8oz) Cool Whip topping, thawed
DIRECTIONS
- Melt caramels with milk in small microwave safe bowl at high for 1 t 1 1/2 minutes, stir until smooth.
- Pour into crust, sprinkle with nuts. Cool.
- Beat cream cheese, sour cream and sugar until smooth, stir in apple sauce, vanilla and cinnamon.
- Fold in half of the whipped topping. Spread mixture over caramel layer in crust.
- Chill at least 4 hours.
- Garnish with remaining whipped topping, apple slices and melted caramels if desired.
- Store any left over pie in the refrigerator.
