Date Nut Pudding

INGREDIENTS
- Cooking Time: 30-35
- 1 c. white sugar
- 1 1/2 c. all purpose flour
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. dates, pitted
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 c. brown sugar, packed
- 2 c. water
- 5 T. butter
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease baking pan. Combine sugar, flour, milk, salt, dates, nuts, vanilla and baking powder and mix well. Pour batter into prepared pan. In a sauce pan, over medium heat, combine brown sugar, water and butter and bring to a boil. Pour brown sugar mixture over batter. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Serve warm with whipped cream.
