Easy Chicken Cacciatore
- 2 pounds chicken parts
- 2 tablespoons shortening
- 1 can condensed tomato soup
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup dry red wine, or 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 2 large cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon oregano, crushed
- 1 medium green pepper, cut into strips
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- In large skillet, brown chicken in shortening; pour off fat. Add remaining ingredients.
- Cover and cook over low heat 45 minutes; stir now and then. Uncover; cook until sauce thickens.
