Easy Home Made Vanilla Pudding
  • Servings: 4
  • 1/2 cups sugar
  • dash of salt
  • 3 Tablespoons AP flour
  • 1 whole egg
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  1. Combine the following in the top of a double boiler, 1/2 cup sugar, 3 Tablespoons flour and the dash of salt.
  2. Mix in 1 whole egg and the 2 egg yolks, combine thoroughly.
  3. Stir in milk.
  4. Cook uncovered, over boiling water, stirring constantly until thickened.
  5. Remove from heat; add vanilla.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap while it is cooling, if you don't want a "skin" to form.
I have seen and heard many requests for home made pudding recipes so I thought I would post one I have been using for about 40 years now. Ooops, I guess you all know I am old now. It is the basis for my banana pudding dessert, you know the one, with the Nilla wafers.
