  • 2 qts. figs. w/stems
  • 1 lemon , sliced
  • 1-1/2 cup sugar
  • 1-1/2 cup water
  • soda
DIRECTIONS
  1. Rinse figs & drain, cover w/ soda
  2. the sink, then cover w/
  3. boiling water & let stand 5
  4. minutes.
  5. Remove figs & rinse, cut off
  6. stems.Make a syrup of the water
  7. sugar. Cook until sugar is well
  8. melted, stir. Add figs & Sliced
  9. lemon. Cook slowly until clear,
  10. about 1- hr
