Finger Lickin Sauce
  • 1 onion, finely chopped ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely minced 1/3 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 2 cups Ketchup 1 TBL. honey
  • 1 cup water 1 TBL. Chili powder
  • ½ cup cider vinegar 1 TBL. Ground cumin
  • ¼ cup canola oil 2 dashes Tabasco sauce
  • ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
  1. Combine all of the ingredients in a heavy saucepan and bring mixture to a boil.
  2. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer until sauce has thickened slightly and the flavors have blended, 10-15 minutes.
  3. Pour the sauce through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl to remove the pieces of chopped onion and garlic.
  4. Adjust seasonings to taste.
  5. Use immediately or store, covered in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  6. Use as barbeque sauce on chicken, hamburgers or favorite barbeque foods.
  7. Makes 3 cups.
