Florida Orange Cookies
INGREDIENTS
- Cookies
- 1 1/2 c sugar
- 1 c butter
- 1 c sour cream
- 2 eggs
- 4 c all purpose flour
- 1 t baking soda
- 1 t baking powder
- 1/2 t salt
- 2/3 c orange juice*
- 3 T orange zest
DIRECTIONS
- There's a great lemon-lime cookie in the Betty Crocker Cookie Cookbook. These cookies go nicely with them for a summer (or Yule) party.
- Cookies
- 1 1/2 c sugar
- 1 c butter
- 1 c sour cream
- 2 eggs

- 1 t baking soda
- 1 t baking powder

- 1/4 c butter
- 2 c powdered sugar
- 2-3 T orange juice*
- 1 T orange zest
- *I like Simply Orange; it balances the sweetness & doesn't add extra sugar; fresh is ideal, since you need the zest anyway
- Oven at 375
- 1. Cream butter & sugars
- 2. Add sour cream & eggs. Beat well.
- 3. Add flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, OJ & zest. Mix well.
- 4. Drop rounded teaspoons or use cookie scoop to place on cookie sheet.
- 5. Bake 8-11 minutes (edges will be light golden brown)
- For frosting:
- Beat all ingredients until smooth. Frost warm cookies.
- Yields about 6 dozen large cookies.
