French Breakfast Puffs
INGREDIENTS
- 1/3 C. shortening
- 1/2 C. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 C. flour
- 1 1/2 t. baking powder
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1/4 t. ground nutmeg
- 1/2 C. milk
- 1/2 C. sugar
- 1 t. cinnamon
- 1/2 C. margarine or butter, melted
DIRECTIONS
- Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 15 muffin cups. Mix shortening, 1/2 C. sugar and egg.
- Stir in flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg alternately with the milk. Fill muffin cups about 2/3 full.
- Bake until golden brown, 20 to 25 minutes.
- Mix 1/2 C. sugar and the cinnamon.
- Immediately after baking, roll puffs in melted margarine, then in the sugar-cinnamon mixtu
