Fruit Cocktail Cake

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 can (1 lb.) fruit cocktail
  • Topping:
  • 1 small can evaporated milk
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup coconut
DIRECTIONS
  1. Mix together flour, baking soda, 1 cup sugar, eggs and fruit cocktail. Put into a greased and floured 9x13 pan and bake at 375 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes or until done.
  2. TOPPING:
  3. Mix together in a saucepan the milk, butter, coconut, sugar and vanilla, bring to a boil and boil for 2 minutes.. Pour over warm cake, punching holes in cake while pouring.
