Grandma's Dressing for Apple Salad
- 1 cup water
- 1 egg beaten
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 T. Flour
- 3 T. vinegar
- 1 T. butter*
- Mix and boil until it thickens, stirring constantly. Cool and mix it into diced apples, celery, grapes, pineapple tidbits, marshmallow bits and pecan halves (can use walnuts).
- *original recipe said butter size of hickory nut. Took me while to figure out that size.
- This recipe came from a fellow worker of my Husband and this is what she called it.
- I got it about 30 years ago when she brought some to a company picnic. Enjoy
