Green Tomato Pie
INGREDIENTS
- Cooking Time: 20
- 3 cups diced green tomatoes
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 3 Tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 Tablespoon vinegar
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla
- 1 Tablespoon butter
DIRECTIONS
- Peel and dice tomatoes, drain.
- Combine sugar, flour, spices and salt.
- Add tomatoes, vanilla and vinegar.
- Bring to a boil, then cool.
- Place butter in bottom of 9-inch pastry shell.
- Pour in cooled mixture.
- Cover with top crust.
- Bake 10 minutes at 425 degrees.
- Reduce heat to 375 degrees and bake for 20 minutes.
