Grinder Sandwiches (Ham and Cheese)

INGREDIENTS
  • Hoagie bun, split (not all of the way through)
  • thin sliced deli ham
  • sliced provolone cheese
  • oregano flakes
  • olive oil
  • sliced green pepper
  • sliced onion
  • salt and pepper
DIRECTIONS
  1. add any if desired: hard salami, sliced pepperoni, sliced tomato, a different kind of cheese etc...
  2. In a skillet saute the green pepper and onion in olive oil until tender-crisp. Drain oil and season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
  3. On each hoagie bun, layer on the ham, provolone cheese and the sauteed green pepper and onion. Drizzle with a little more olive oil, and sprinkle on the oregano leaves. Wrap each sandwich in foil and bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes, or until cheese is melted and sandwiches are heated through.
RECIPE BACKSTORY
These sandwiches are quite good. You can add whatever you like, to "jazz" them up, but are very good just as is. For each sandwich, you will need: (use as much as you like)
