Grinder Sandwiches (Ham and Cheese)
- Hoagie bun, split (not all of the way through)
- thin sliced deli ham
- sliced provolone cheese
- oregano flakes
- olive oil
- sliced green pepper
- sliced onion
- salt and pepper
- add any if desired: hard salami, sliced pepperoni, sliced tomato, a different kind of cheese etc...
- In a skillet saute the green pepper and onion in olive oil until tender-crisp. Drain oil and season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
- On each hoagie bun, layer on the ham, provolone cheese and the sauteed green pepper and onion. Drizzle with a little more olive oil, and sprinkle on the oregano leaves. Wrap each sandwich in foil and bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes, or until cheese is melted and sandwiches are heated through.
