• 1 1/2 c. self-rising corn meal
• 1/2 c. self-rising flour
• 1 egg
• 1/4 tsp. sugar
• 1/4 tsp. salt
• 1 large onion, chopped fine
• 1 c. buttermilk

1. Mix well; drop the puppies off a teaspoon into the hot grease. They will float and brown in seconds.

Half this receipe for family of 4. I use powdered buttermilk, since we don't normally drink it.
