Malted Milk Brownies

  • 1 (21.5 oz.) pkg. fudge brownie mix
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. oil
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 c. chopped malted milk balls
  • FROSTING:
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 T. butter
  • 2 T. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2/3 c. coarsely chopped malt balls
DIRECTIONS
  1. Heat oven to 350°. Grease bottom of 13 x 9 pan. In a large bowl, combine all brownie ingredients; beat 50 strokes by hand. Spread on greased pan. Bake in oven for 33 to 35 minutes. DO NOT OVER BAKE. Cool completely.
  2. In small saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate chips and margarine, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat. Add milk and vanilla; blend well. Stir in coarsely chopped malt balls. Spread frosting over cooled brownies. Sprinkle 1/3 cup of chopped malt balls on top.
  3. Refrigerate 15 to 20 minutes or until set. Cut in to 36 bars.
