Mary's Lime Pickles

INGREDIENTS
  • 7 lb. Pickles Sliced
  • 2 cups Lime (Pickling Kind)
  • 2 gallon Water
  • 2 quarts Vinegar
  • 4 1/2 lbs. Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Celery Seed
  • 1 teaspoon Whole Cloves
  • 1 teaspoon Pickling Spices
  • 1 tablespoon Canning Salt
DIRECTIONS
  1. Add the lime into the water and mix well
  2. Add pickles and let stand 24 hours
  3. Drain and wash several times in cold water
  4. Let stand in cold water for 3 hours
  5. Mix Vinegar, Sugar, Celery Seed, Cloves, Pickling Spice & Canning Salt
  6. Mix all together until the sugar is dissolved
  7. Pour over pickles and let stand overnight
  8. Boil together Pickles and Spices & simmer for 30 minutes
  9. Pour into Jars
  10. Put in Hot Water Bath for 10 minutes
