Milliion Dollar Pound Cake
  • 1 pound butter, softened
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 4 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  1. Cream butter, gradually add sugar, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
  3. Add flour to creamed mixture alternating with milk; beginning and ending with flour.
  4. Mix just until blended after each addition.
  5. Stir in flavorings.
  6. Pour batter into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
  7. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean.
  8. Cool in pan for 15 minutes; remove from pan and let cook completely on a wire rack.
  9. This freezes well to keep on hand for unexpected company.
This is the BEST pound cake I have ever eaten. We love it in the summer with fresh fruit and if we are feeling really indulgent some whipped cream. Yumm.
