My Meatloaf

  • I lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 onion, chopped finely
  • 1 pkg Lipton's dry onion soup mix
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 2 tsp worcestershire sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, pressed or minced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 3 strips bacon
DIRECTIONS
  1. In 8 cup mixing bowl squish together all ingredients except bacon. I use gloved hands. Mix well.
  2. Really slap the ball or throw it onto a cutting board to force air out of it so it won't crumble after it's cooked.
  3. Shape and place into a loaf pan and lay bacon over top.
  4. Bake in 350 degree F oven for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
  5. Let cool 10 minutes before removing from pan and cutting into slices.
  6. Let leftover meatloaf cool completely before refrigerating and slice thinly the next day for yummy sandwiches!
