One Pan Pork Chops

INGREDIENTS
  • 5-6 thinly sliced pork chops
  • that have been seasoned
  • with salt & pepper
  • 2 Tblsp. veg. oil
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 1- 16 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1-1/2 cups water
  • 2 Tblsp. sugar
  • 1-1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup uncooked rice
DIRECTIONS
  1. In a large frying pan with sides or a dutch oven, place
  2. veg. oil and heat. When heated, place in seasoned
  3. pork chops and cook 4 -5 minutes per side
  4. or until lightly browned.
  5. Remove chops.
  6. Add onion and celery and cook until translucent.
  7. Stir in tomato sauce, water, sugar and salt.
  8. Bring to a boil.
  9. Stir in rice and reduce heat to low.
  10. Place chops on top and cover.
  11. Cook for 30 - 40 minutes on low until rice
  12. is cooked through.
