Onion Cheese Bread

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups biscuit mix
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese divided
  • 2 tsp dried parsley flakes
DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees lightly grease an 8 inch square baking pan.
  2. In a small skillet, melt butter over medium high heat.
  3. Add onion, and cook 3 minutes or until tender, set aside to cool
  4. In a medium bowl combine egg and milk.
  5. Gradually add biscuit mix, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.
  6. Stir in cooked onion, 1/2 cup cheese and parsley.
  7. Spread batter into pan sprinkle evenly with remaining cheese.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown
