- 1 cup steelcut oats
- 2 cups water
- Put oats and water in casserole dish. I use 1 1/2 qt. Pyrex Casserole.
- Fill Crock-Pot about half full after dish is inside (bain-marie).
- Cover and cook on low overnight. See Photo.
I've been wanting to try this way of making oatmeal with the Crock-Pot for some time. After doing a little research online, I found an excellent way without it burning on the sides, like our carrot cake did the day before. My photo doesn't look so great, I couldn't wait to dig in. I made it plain and added cinnamon and raisins afterwards, it was perfect! Next time I'll try adding it before cooking. I'm sure other fruits can be added, I've just haven't tried it yet.
