Peanut Butter Bars
INGREDIENTS
  • 1/2 c. (1 stick) margrine
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 2 t. vanilla
  • 3/4 c. peanut butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 1 1/2 t. baking powder
  • 1 c. chocolate chips, optional
  • Frosting:
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 cups confectioners sugar
  • enough milk to make pour consistently
DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Grease or spray with Pam a 9x13 pan.
  3. Combine flour, salt and baking powder and set aside.
  4. In large bowl cream margarine, sugars and vanilla until light.
  5. Beat in peanut butter.
  6. Beat in eggs one at a time.
  7. Stir in dry ingredients and mix until smooth. Fold in chocolate chips.
  8. Spread mixture in prepared pan and smooth out as evenly as possible.
  9. Bake 30 minutes, or until lightly browned, being careful not to over bake.
  10. Cool and cut into squares
