Salisbury Steak With Gravy, Carrots And Beans

  • 1 1/2 lbs. 80% lean ground chuck
  • 1/3 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1cup water
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 can cut green beans (can use fresh or frozen)
  • 6 medium carrots (about 1 1/2 cups), thinly sliced carrots into 1/4-inch disks
  1. Mix beef, onion, egg, salt and pepper. Form mixture into 6 patties. Lightly spray an electric skillet with cooking spray and heat to 325 degrees F. Brown patties on both sides.
  2. Remove patties. Pour off excess fat and add 1/2 cup water to deglaze the pan, scraping up the brown bits. Stir in remaining 1/2 cup water, soup and Worcestershire, beans and carrots. Return patties to skillet. Cover and cook on low (about 175 degrees F on electric skillet) for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serves 3-6 depending on portion desired
