Syrian Bread

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 cups flour
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 2 1/2 cups warm water (approximately 105°)
DIRECTIONS
  1. Mix all ingredients together in a large mixing bowl with wooden spoon.
  2. Knead with hands to smooth dough if necessary.
  3. Grease metal mixing bowl.
  4. Place dough in greased bowl; cover with clean dish towel.
  5. Let dough rise for 2 hours.
  6. Punch down dough.
  7. Divide dough into two balls.
  8. Press down onto two pizza pans.
  9. Pierce with fork.
  10. Let raise 1/2 hour.
  11. Bake at 450° until light brown on top and bottom.
  12. Check after approximately 10 minutes.
