Vinegar Cake

INGREDIENTS
  • Servings: 16
  • 1 1/2 C all-purpose flour
  • 1 C sugar
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 3 T cocoa lus more for dusting cake
  • 1 T vinegar
  • 1 T vanilla extract
  • 1 C warm water
  • 6 T vegetable oil
DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. Mix dry ingredients together
  3. Mak a well in dry ingredients and add wet ingredients
  4. Mix well
  5. If batter isn't very loose, add a bit more warm water (1 T at a time) until you get a thin batter
  6. Pour into an 8 or 9 inch square pan
  7. Bake 25-30 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean
  8. Let cool and dust with cocoa

I saw this in the Relish magazine in the paper and it intrigued me. I haven't tried it yet, but wanted to know where it was when I need to make a cake.
