homemade teriyaki sauce
INGREDIENTS
  • Cooking Time: 25 minutes
  • Servings: about 3 cups
  • Preparation Time: 10 minutes
  • 3/4 cup soy sauce (preferably tamari )
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup sake
  • 1/4 cup mirin
  • 3 tbls rice vinegar
  • 2 cups beef stock (not shitty broth either)
  • 2 tsp fresh ginger (minced fine)
  • 2 tsp fresh garlic (minced fine)
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 2 tbls honey
  • 2 green onions (sliced)
  • 2 tbls cornstarch
  • 2 tbls water
DIRECTIONS
  1. combine all ingredients except cornstarch and water and bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer,let it simmer about 25 min. and reduce 1/3. combine cold water and cornstarch to make a slurry,whisk slurry into sauce until thickened to desired consistency.
