Craviatas - The Shortbread Cookie
Submitted by: Pamela CaronYou may know the cookie by a different name, the Mexican Wedding Cake or the Russian Tea Cake...part of my mothers ancestry traces back to Czechoslovakia and therefore the name Craviata! These shortbread cookies, stored in air-tight containers soak in just the right amount of the sweet powder sugar when made for Christmas the last week of October. You won't regret making your first Christmas Cookie at Halloween, the Craviata will impress any guest!
White Chocolate Cherry Shortbread
Submitted by: Better Homes & GardensI found this recipe on Better Homes & Gardens website a few years ago when searching for a new cookie recipe. It instantly became a fan favorite! Buttery shortbread with maraschino cherries, baked and then dipped in white chocolate...they look like you bought them at a bakery!
Espresso Cookies
Submitted by: Better Homes & GardensThese cookies are a magical combination of chocolate and coffee flavors and to enjoy them with a cup of coffee...heaven! I originally found this recipe in the Better Homes & Gardens issue 2002 issue of Simply Perfect Holiday Baking. They were originally called "Mocha Wands" for the cookie press disc used to create the cookie shape. I have made a few ajustments, utilizing packets of instant coffee rather than the original 4 teaspoons of espresso coffee powder they called for, increased the vanilla from 1 teaspoon to 1 Tablespoon and using a different cookie press disc to yield more cookies, but the adjustments have gained rave reviews!
Cream Cheese Sprintz Cookies
Submitted by: Pamela CaronGrowing up this was one of most fun cookies to make because we got to help decorate them ourselves! We made green Christmas Tree shapes, Pink Hearts and White Stars and my mom would get all the colored sprinkles and jimmies she could find for us to decorate with. If you don't already have a cookie press...definately invest in one! You don't have to spend a lot to find a great one and they make your cookies look beautiful!
Peanut Butter Secrets
Submitted by: CriscoEach year I try a couple new cookies and when this one caught my eye, I couldn't resist it being on my list this year! A peanut butter cookie covered in chocolate already sounds wonderful yes, but wait for it.....the surprise inside....a miniature peanut butter cup! WOW, heaven in a cookie!
Insanely Delicious Turtle Cookies
Submitted by: Americas Test Kitchen & The Kitchen is My PlaygroundThere...Are....No....Words. Absolutely no words to describe how insanely delicious these cookies are! Honestly the best cookies I have made in some time! Soft, chocolate-y, pecan-y cookie filled with smooth and creamy caramel and drizzled with chocolate drizzle. That is enough for me to add this cookie to my baking list this year! They look difficult to make, but are actually pretty easy!
Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies
Submitted by: Better Homes & GardensThis is not grandmas recipe for old-fashioned sugar cookies. Not that there was anything wrong with that. But when you add cream cheese to a sugar cookie it adds a sweet and fluffy texture to them that grandmas cookies never had!

Christmas Cookies
FREE
One of my fondest memories growing up was of my mother baking Christmas cookies. She would take plates to friends and neighbors to wish them Merry Christmas. In her eyes it was such a simple gesture, but to those with whom she shared them, it meant so much more...it was a gift crafted with time and love. And so I continue her tradition. I hope my cookies, photos and recipes bring you joy this Christmas and I wish you a blessed New Year!
