Cookbook Recipe
Bestest Chocolate Chips!
Sometimes the basics are the perfect fit, and this recipe, although basic and timeless, is as good as it gets. I've been making them around the Holidays for over 40 years.

Cookbook Recipe
A Kiss of Coconut Cookie
Coconut and Chocolate go together well, as witnessed by such favorites as Mounds bars. This recipe gives you the coconut and chocolate pairing, with a twist of almond flavor that really sets it off.

Cookbook Recipe
Every Kid's Sugar Cookie
The Holidays mean visitors and often with children. More times than not, no matter how many chocolate chip cookies I make, we eventually run out. But the kids tend to like these just as well, so we make these too.

Cookbook Recipe
Home Made Girl Scout Mints
Everyone tends to love the Girl Scout thin mints, and this recipe gets awful close to making them at home.

Cookbook Recipe
Orange Zesty Cookies with White baking Chips
Down here in Florida, citrus is a big thing. These cookies showcase our Oranges in a delightful way.

Cookbook Recipe
Kimchi
I was introduced to Kimchi at a Korean eatery in NY. I really enjoyed the pungent flavor and researched how it is made traditionally. Then we began to make our own at home.

Cookbook Recipe
Cabbage Everyone Likes
When I was a kid, my friends mom made a version of this about once a week as a side dish for her family. One day when I was there for dinner, I reluctantly tried this, since cabbage wasn't a favorite of mine. Well, I asked for more! I even got her basic recipe and have made my version for 45 years now.

Cookbook Recipe
Grandma's Italian Beans
My mother would make this style beans when I was young and she always called it grandma's Italian beans. I never really thought about it, but we didn't have an Italian Grandmom! But they sure are yummy and they're a hit around the holiday's because of the bright green of the beans and the red of the diced tomatoes. It's a wonderful side.

Cookbook Recipe
Bob's Cancer Killin Chicken Vegetable Soup
My wife was diagnosed with Breast cancer in July of 19, and the chemo doctor suggested that if she's having a hard time eating, she should load up on as much "chicken soup" as I can get in her. This is why there's no potatoes or noodles in this, it is strictly Chicken with veggies. She has to avoid carbs. But every time I make this, my family says it's the best soup they've ever had. So give it a shot. Play with the amounts of spicing and even amount of veggies. For instance a lot of times, I don't take off 5 or 6 stalks of celery, I take the whole bunch, cut the top off about an inch down and thinly slice the whole bunch at the same time, green leafy stuff and all. It works nicely. Anyway, I hope you like this soup, and if you're sick, it will help you get better!

Cookbook Recipe
Argentine Red Shrimp
When Argentine reds first hit the market a few years ago, we tried them and found them to be delicious. We've made them with butter and garlic, we've made them in a scampy you name it. But when my kids are around, they always ask for the "steak shrimp". Give it a try, as weird as it sounds, it works really well.

Cookbook Recipe
Bayside Crab Cakes
Crab is my favorite seafood. We lived on the bayfront for about 10 years and we had a constant supply of crab from about mid June through October. While picking crab and eating it is certainly wonderful, picking a pound or two and then making these cakes is a real treat. I hope you enjoy!

Cookbook Recipe
Easy Crawfish Etouffee
My in-laws moved to "Pascagula" Mississippi just after we got married. Down in the bayou's Etouffee is a staple food, and we fell in love with it. As a note, a lot of the folks we had it with in Miss. used a lot of red pepper flakes to turn up the spiciness. We often use some too.

Cookbook Recipe
Maple Syrup Sweet Potatoes
We love sweet potatoes, whether mashed, fried, baked, or what have you. But by basting these in butter and maple syrup, they take on a sweetness that is simply wonderful to experience.

Cookbook Recipe
Charred Brussels Sprouts
Brussels have enjoyed a Renaissance so to speak, after being left for dead by most people. But there has always been some real fans of these little things, and we didn't go away! We really enjoy charring them just "enough" to give them some really crispy edges, with the hot steamy insides. They're great.

Cookbook Recipe
Bob's Mock Onion Soup
I really like French onion soup, but rarely ever have the time to make a true bone marrow broth. But this recipe, using Campbell's broth does just fine.

Cookbook Recipe
Dee's Mom's Bobka Bread
Babka bread is a Polish Jewish bread. It is said to originate from the Poland and Ukraine areas. The word "babka" comes from the Slavic word babcia, which means grandmother. Where ever it comes from, good Babka bread is wonderful stuff, and a real treat when made right.

Cookbook Recipe
Dee's Super Easy Microwave taters
Potatoes and onions go together well, and with a little salt, pepper and parsley, it comes together perfectly. Add in the fact that it only needs 10 - 12 minutes in the nuker, and it's a quick, easy addition.

Cookbook Recipe
Crazy good burgers
Everyone likes a burger now and then, so why not "kick it up a notch?" The Lipton soup mix and the splash of vermouth in the onions takes this to a new level. I hope you enjoy it.

Cookbook Recipe
Almost Keto Cheesy Chicken/sprouts casserole
We have quite a few recipes where we're combining the protein and the vegetable in the same dish. This is handy for me, as I'm trying to reduce carb intake. I can get my meat and veggies, but others can put this over rice or pasta and get the whole spectrum.

Cookbook Recipe
Super Easy Cheese Steak Sammy
If you're really looking to do the big honest cheese steak, you need to start with great meat like a well marbled rib eye. But we found this shortcut a few years ago. Boars head "london broil" Roast beef is arguably the best deli product they make. We buy a pound and a half, it's already sliced, we simply cut it into strips. It's already cooked, so it doesn't need much time in the pan. It's already very well seasoned, so you might not even want to add any more spices like salt and pepper. Oh, and it comes out Yummy!

Cookbook Recipe
Easy Poached Egg
Not everyone seems to master the traditional way of poaching eggs. That's okay, this is faster and easier. However, in the very beginning you're going to mess up a few, until you find the right amount of time for your microwave. Once you do, remember that for the future. In our panasonic 1250 watt nuker, one jumbo egg is perfectly poached, Runny but done, in 39 seconds. At 45 the yolk is solid, and we don't like that. In our older smaller unit, it needed 46 seconds for the perfect poach. so yes, you will probably need to test 3 or 4 the first time. But after that, it's always the same.

Cookbook Recipe
Broiled Salmon
I was raised at the bayside and fish was a weekly staple in our house. The first thing I ever learned was that you don't want to smother your fish in so many toppings and fancy sauces that the fish can't shine through it. Most people use lemon with their fish. We prefer lime juice. Most people under season their fish, figuring it has salt from the sea. It doesn't. Be liberal with your salt.

Cookbook Recipe
Osso Bucco + Gremolata
Rich and robust, this is a meal fit for a king. It's an expensive plate for sure, but it will dazzle the crowd.

Cookbook Recipe
Incredible Clams
Living on the Jersey shore for so many years, and having true clam diggers in the family, we have had a long history of eating clams in many various ways. But this is one of our signature "go to" dishes.

Cookbook Recipe
Oven BBQ Country Ribs One Pan
Country style pork ribs aren't ribs, they're a shoulder cut. But when cooked low and slow, all that nice fat dissolves and the meat becomes super tender. With a good BBQ sauce, they make a great main dish that everyone tends to like.

Cookbook Recipe
Crab Dip With Crackers
Crab is my favorite seafood and this dip just "works!" The flavors marry perfectly, it's cozy food and frankly it won't last 5 minutes once someone starts digging into it. I've placed this on the table with a surround of different crackers, and not 3 minutes later a guest said "I wish you had some more of that stuff around, it's all gone!" Yes indeed, it will be.

Cookbook Recipe
Easy But so Yummie Key lime Pie
We live in FL. No matter what restaurant you go to, Key lime will be on the dessert menu. So, we wanted to see what a good "basic" key lime consists of, and it was surprisingly simple. Give it a try, it's always good on a warm day.

Cookbook Recipe
My favorite Meatloaf. "Especially for sammy's the next day!"
Meatloaf has been around tor 150 years, and it's still a great comfort food. A good meatloaf sandwich the next day, is a real treat too!

Cookbook Recipe
Pork Chops with Kraut and Apples
Pork and sauerkraut have been a German staple for eons. Well, in Southern Germany, the addition of some beer steamed apples, adds another flavor profile that really helps expand it.

Cookbook Recipe
Fried Pickles?
Fried pickles are a fun appetizer/snack that you can make as exciting as you want depending on the heat level you want to incorporate via seasonings. We like them a bit spicier than you, so play with it a bit and see what works.

Cookbook Recipe
Sous Vide Chicken Parm
Who doesn't like chicken parm? Who doesn't like mozzarella? Who doesn't like easy? This is very easy! The addition of the ham and salami, changes this up nicely, and the sous vide method of cooking creates the most perfect juicy chicken you'll ever have.

Cookbook Recipe
Clam Chowda!
The bayfront afforded us the luxury of having wild clam beds in the bays around our home. My son worked in the bay for summer money and we had a plentiful supply of everything from little necks, to big honkin chowder clams that weighed almost a pound each. IF you are land locked, please try NOT to go with canned clams. Please. Almost any really good seafood store carries mid neck or cherry stone clams. If you can't find big old chowder clams, use the biggest clams you can find, and use more of them. The stuff in the cans, even the "commercial" stuff, is simply...not making it.

Cookbook Recipe
Gracie's Beef Stew
I love beef stew. My mom made it about once every 2 weeks as I was growing up. By the time I wanted to try my hand at making it, I saw some things in her recipe that I thought was lacking and after trying several variations, we came up with this one. I hope you like it.

Cookbook Recipe
Not Boring Cod
Cod is one of those very mild fish that need some help coaxing the flavors out of it. Using some of these Mediterranean spices brings out the subtle flavors of the cod very nicely.
