Hainanese Chicken Rice
Hainanese Chicken Rice is a Chinese dish from originated from Hainanese family recipe culture. It was passed down by their generations. Until now, it was still a popular dish in Singapore and Malaysia areas. I like this dish because it was the chicken sauce is very juicy when the chicken meat eaten together with the sauce, it was heavenly taste. It means to me Chinese food tradition will preserve and continues even when their ancestors no longer around, so that the dish will remain.Oyster Omelette Recipe
The oyster omelette, as known as o-a-tsian, o-chien or orh luak is a dish of Min Nan origin that is renowned for its savory flavor in its native Minnan region and Chaoshan, along with Taiwan and many parts of Southeast Asia such as the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia due to the influence of the Hokkien and Teochew diaspora. I like this recipe because it was like a delightful delicacy. Especially, when the omelette complements well with those fresh cooked oysters, they were very tasty. It was like my childhood seafood delicacy meaningful dish in my family life.Mee Siam Recipe
Mee siam is a dish of thin rice vermicelli of hot, sweet and sour flavours, originated in Penang but popular among the Malay and Peranakan communities throughout Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, although the dish is called "Siamese noodle" in Malay and thus appears to be inspired or adapted from Thai flavours when Thailand was formerly known as Siam. I like this dish because it's rather spicy. It's rather tasty especially the noodles are very smooth. It means that I've also immersed myself with Malay food culture.Kung Pao Chicken Recipe
Kung Pao chicken (Chinese: 宮保雞丁; pinyin: Gōngbǎo jīdīng; Wade–Giles: Kung¹-pao³ Chi¹-ting¹), also transcribed Gong Bao or Kung Po, is a spicy, stir-fried Chinese dish made with cubes of chicken, peanuts, vegetables and chili peppers. The classic dish in Sichuan cuisine originated in the Sichuan province of south-western China and includes Sichuan peppercorns. Although the dish is found throughout China, there are regional variations that are typically less spicy than the Sichuan serving. I like this dish because of its sweet and spicy flavours that attracts me which matches well with my food taste. It means to me like a "Palace Guardian" which guards the old China palace very loyal to the emperor animal.Nasi Lemak Recipe
Nasi lemak is a dish originating in Malay cuisine that consists of fragrant rice cooked in coconut milk and pandan leaf. It is commonly found in Malaysia, where it is considered as the national dish. It is also a native dish in neighbouring areas with significant ethnic Malay populations such as Singapore and Southern Thailand. In Indonesia it can be found in several parts of Sumatra, especially the Malay regions of Riau, Riau Islands and Medan. It is considered an essential dish for a typical Malay-style breakfast. Nasi lemak is featured as a national dish in most of the country's tourism brochures and promotional materials. I like this Malay cuisine because it was one of my favorite childhood food. If there are fried fish, chicken wings or drumsticks plus some ikan bilis added to the dish, it would be more tasteful and flavourful. It means to me don't neglect coconut milk whenever added into Malay rice, it can be just as nice as other races rice as well.Thank you for your interest in writemyway's cookbook and for helping support the BakeSpace community of independent cookbook authors!
