Simple grilled potatoesPotatoes simply seasoned and grilled are really tasty. A perfect side dish to go with grilled meat.
Grilled Italian SausageI prefer to buy my Italian sausage at a local Italian grocers, such as CoCo's in Nashville. If I can't get to Nashville, then I prefer Johnsville brand.
Summer PastaThis recipe came about after a trip to the Amish farms in Southern Kentucky filled my larder with wonderful fresh veggies. Our family loves pasta, and this light, veggie filled recipe is a delightful summertime dish.
Red White and Blue CheesecakesI serve these nearly every 4th of July at our celebration. Everyone absolutely loves them, they are easy to make, and add the celebration.
Decadent Chocolate CakeMy mother was a chocoloholic. Nothing could have too much chocolate for her tastes, and she loved this cake. I suspect some of my customers are chocoloholics too.
Hot Fudge SauceFudge sauce is so addicting and so easy to make with simple pantry staples, why would you ever buy store bought sauce full of chemicals?
Spinach SaladThe flavors of fresh spinach with bacon, blue cheese, pears, and walnuts are so good. A real crowd pleaser. ________________________________________
Chicken Breast with Onion, Mushrooms, and Garlic with Balsamic reductionOur family often serves chicken for dinner. This delicious recipe is quick and easy for a weeknight dinner on busy school nights.
Loaded Mashed PotatoesThis is a wonderful recipe that can be prepared ahead and put in a crockpot until serving. Great for holidays and potlucks.
Southwest Chipotle Grilled Steak StripsThe men in our family love steak. This is a relatively inexpensive beef steak dish that really satisfies. We love it.
Southwest Chopped SaladThis salad is so good with Southwest and Mexican dishes. It is also good topped with grilled chicken for a main dish.
Blueberry Lemon CakeMy daughter loves blueberries, but does not care for fruit pies. This wonderful blueberry lemon cake is the perfect summer time dessert.
White Chocolate MousseWhite chocolate mousse is so elegant served with fresh ripe strawberries. Easy to make, but a wonderful end to a special meal.
TUSCAN GRILLED CHICKEN SKEWERSA wonderful summer recipe. The vibrantly flavored, crisp sage leaves are delicious eaten with the chicken.
ASPARAGUS RISOTTOAsparagus is my favorite veggie. When I have leftover asparagus this recipe is so good to make the asparagus into another delicious side dish. Or after a visit to the farmers market when I have purchased too much, this recipe is a keeper for using up an abundance of asparagus.
BREADED PORK TENDERLOINMy parents moved from Chillicothe Missouri to Bloomington Illinois when I was a baby. We often made trips back to their home in Missouri to visit family and we always crossed the Mississippi river at Hannibal. In the 1960's there was a restuarant on the Missouri side of the river that specialized in Pork Tenderloin Sandwiches and we always stopped there for dinner. These pork sandwiches are just like those, except of course they are GF.
GGFG HAMBURGER BUNSI used to purchase hamburger buns for my grandson, David at the grocery. The buns were a bit hard and rather thick. So one day I tried making buns using GGFG bread recipe. It worked great.
KANSAS CITY SMOKEHOUSE BEANSA wonderful recipe to serve with sandwiches and BBQ. If you enjoy pork n beans, you’ll really love Smokehouse beans.
BERMUDA SALAD BOWLI love blue cheese. So when I saw this recipe I had to try it. It is now a favorite.
STRAWBERRY PRETZEL PIEOur family loves all the berries of summertime. But strawberries are the easiest and most economical to find at farmers markets and produce stores. This pie is good if you enjoy the flavors of salty and sweet. Personally, I think next time I make it I will use a cookie crust. I love that it is a no cook treat.
KEY LIME BARSLemon bars have long been a favorite, and so have key lime pie. So why did it take so long to make Key Lime bars? Who knows, but we love them.
HULI HULI GRILLED CHICKENWe enjoy chicken and serve it 2 or 3 times a week. During hot weather we prefer to use our outdoor kitchen, Huli Huli chicken is a bit different than just grilled or BBQ chicken and is really tasty.
GINGER SESAME NOODLESOur family enjoys many Asian main dishes. Sometimes we need an Asian dish besides rice, this Ginger Sesame Noodle dish fills the bill perfectly.
FRENCH ONION SALISBURY STEAKWe enjoy Salisbury steak with mushroom brown gravy in the cooler months. This recipe is adapted for the warmer months of the year when we still enjoy Salisbury steak, but want to keep the heat outside.
GARLIC MASHED POTATOESSometimes we want mashed potatoes but we are not serving gravy. Garlic mashed potatoes are wonderful for those times.
CRUNCHY COLESLAW WITH POPPY SEED DRESSINGThis recipe is a delicious variation of traditional creamy coleslaw. Fancy enough to serve guests.
PINA COLADA CAKEPina Colada, a famous drink of rum, coconut, and pineapple also makes a delicious cake.
FRESH DAIRY FREE STRAWBERRY MOUSSEFresh strawberries in season are so good. We cannot resist purchasing them every time we see them. This mousse is really good, and dairy free. .

When my grandson, David, was diagnosed with Celiac Disease at a very young age I immediately started cooking gluten free. Before long I started converting our family favorite recipes to gluten free versions and I began to realize that he would need to have these recipes, so I started writing a cookbook. Twelve years ago when my only grandson, David, was 21 months old he was diagnosed failure to thrive and his parents were told he was starving to death. It was Celiac Disease. We had never heard of Celiac Disease, but were told that he could never again eat anything containing wheat, barley, oats, or rye. David liked toast and jam for his breakfast, so I went to the grocery and bought a loaf of gluten free bread, which when he took a bite, he promptly spit out. I tasted it, I might as well have eaten the wrapper it came in, it wouldn't have tasted any worse. Since I am a baker and bread maker, I thought "how hard can it be to simply replace the wheat flour and make my own gluten free bread?" I bought rice flour and attempted to make bread with it...a total disaster. OK, I thought, this is going to be a bit more difficult than anticipated. Next, I bought bread mixes at the store and they were better, but I believed that I surely could do better. Since my son-in-law is a chemist he helped me to determine the ratio of proteins and starches needed in various alternative flours that would most closely resemble those properties in wheat flours. We turned to ancient grains for the most part and developed our own gluten free flour blend; Grandmas Gluten Free Goodies was born. This cookbook has the recipe for making white sandwich bread, hamburger buns, and slider buns using Grandmas GF Bread Mix which has everything in it except for milk, eggs, and oil which you add. I have also included the recipes for white sandwich bread, hamburger buns, and slider buns using Grandmas GF Baking Mix which I use for all my baking. For more information about Grandmas GF Bread Mix or Grandmas GF Baking Mix or to purchase, the website is http://grandmasgfgoodies.com. There the ingredients are listed in case of allergies. Please feel free to email us [email protected] with any questions. Happy Baking!
Thanksgiving or Christmas dinners can be depressing when you have Celiac Disease. Imagine that you are invited to dinner at your in-laws and of course they don't really understand the restrictions of your diet. You can eat the turkey, but even then if it was stuffed with bread stuffing you run the risk of cross contamination. You can eat the mashed potatoes, and the sweet potatoes and hope that no spoons used to serve these dishes also went into the broccoli rice casserole or the green bean casserole and contaminated the potatoes. No gravy, no rolls, no casseroles, no desserts. Here's an idea- volunteer to bring a dish like Broccoli Rice Casserole or Green Bean Casserole and a pie from this cookbook that is gluten free to take to a holiday gathering so you know there will something there that you like and can eat (just be sure you get to it first). Or better yet host the Holiday dinner for your family and no one but you will know it's Gluten Free. Many of my customers also have other allergies, the most common is dairy allergies. For those who also have dairy allergies, all the recipes in this cookbook can be made very successfully using coconut milk or almond milk and dairy free margarine. Please check out our website for the ingredients in our Baking Mixes http://grandmasgfgoodies.com or feel free to contact our email with any questions or suggestions [email protected] . I hope this cookbook helps you to enjoy your gluten free journey! Jeanne & Michelle
