This is one of a series of cook books helping people to understand how simple it is to cook gluten free.

Soups are great. i remember someone telling me that soups were "empty", however not the soups i make. I would particularly recommend left overs soup as a really cheap and exciting dish. I make it regularly and take it into work for my lunch. Usually full of nourishment and fibre and costing pennies.

Cookbook Recipe
Gluten Free Leftovers soup
I love this recipe as it gives me a very cheap and delicious lunch. It is always different and freezes well. I change the spices I put in each time. i got the base for this recipe on the internet somewhere.

Cookbook Recipe
Gluten Free Golden Vegetable Soup
I have a whole pile of recipes that have been typed out over the years and put in a folder and I am currently re-doing these and putting the successful ones on here. Hence I have no idea where this recipe actually came from. I happened to have most of the ingredients for this recipe already or I would have stuck with left overs soup. i really like this one.

Cookbook Recipe
Moroccan Spiced Carrot Soup
This is a recent experiment which i have modified a bit as I don't do things like grate onion. It looks a bit odd with the grated carrot, however i really liked it.

Cookbook Recipe
Gluten Free Aubergine Soup
I am currently working through my old hard copy recipe book and have got to this one. My local greengrocers have cheap aubergines at the moment, so this recipe made sense. My memories of this recipe was that it was bland, however I don't find it so now. No idea where it came from. I have altered the recipe a bit as it originally had cream not milk and parsnips instead of 1 of the carrots. I forgot the lemon juice, however I tasted it prior to serving and it tasted just fine. If you want to adjust this for slimming world or weight watchers, just use low fat oil spray instead of the oil and that will do fine. If you want to go more special, use cream instead of milk

Cookbook Recipe
Gluten Free No Syn Vegetable Soup
This recipe is most likely based on a weight watchers one, however fits slimming world and is free. It is filling and surprisingly tasty. I expected it to be bland. You can however add herbs and spices to your own taste, a bit of chilli would add a nice kick.

Cookbook Recipe
Gluten Free Spiced Carrot Soup
I love soups, especially in the winter when it is cold. I freeze soups in 1 meal batches and take to work. This recipe is great, highly adaptable and healthy. It is also free on the slimming world plan at the moment. This recipe was based on a Weight Watchers book (Time to Eat) which is most likely out of print now. I am currently attending a slimming world group, hence why I know this is free, however most recipes can be adapted to be healthy what ever the source.

Cookbook Recipe
Gluten free Main Meal Minestone Soup. No Syns
This is the latest recipe that I have tried. I used lamb. I also didn't read the recipe and added the rice too early, so the rice is a bit softer than it should be. Tastes fine though and freezes very well. I took a portion of this to work for lunch this week and it was delicious. This is another recipe that is in my favourite recipe book "Time to Eat" by weight watchers. I am currently attending a slimming world group and I know plans change regularly, so I can say the recipe is Syn free, however you would have to work out the weight watchers points. I want to be honest about where i get my recipes, so less confident people know that we aren't all ultra creative recipe designers.

Cookbook Recipe
Gluten Free Curried Sweet Potato and Lentil Soup
Another recipe based on one from "The time to eat" by Weight Watchers. Again delicious. I am now doing slimming world and this is free. I froze some and took it to work for lunch. I will do so again.

Cookbook Recipe
Gluten Free Broccoli and Blue Cheese Soup
The idea originates from a Weight Watchers book called time to eat. I have adapted it. This is an old book. In my experience, whatever plan you are using to help you lose weight, finding a cookbook that has recipes that you like and trying some of these is a really good idea. It is far easier to control what you put in a dish if you learn how to cook it and work out how to fit the recipe to your current plan. I am currently attending a Slimming World group and I know this is not free, however the blue cheese may well fit into a healthy extra A, although you will have to look this up to be sure. This is delicious though and I feel it justifies any points/syns/calories it contains. I doubt it is many!

Naturally Gluten Free

FREE

Many people think that cooking gluten free is complicated, expensive and needs a lot of special ingredients, however a lot of food is naturally gluten free and inexpensive. This recipe book is a collection of these recipes that I have tried and loved. You still need to be careful not to accidentally contaminate gluten free food with gluten if you, or the person you are cooking for are strictly gluten free, however no need for any special ingredients.

I became strictly gluten free in September 2016 and am "Presumed Coeliac". My friends have asked me to make a recipe book so people know what to cook for me and other people who are gluten free. I like curries, so cook these a lot, hence why it is the first recipe book to be published. I was going to allow free downloads, however have decided to ask a small amount and donate this to the Coeliac UK Please note, I am based in the UK, so will be using UK measurements throughout. I also am not an original cook, so most of my recipes have come from a recipe book originally. When I know which one I got it from, I will acknowledge this.
