I would rather cook than do anything else. I also write cookbooks. But not your ordinary cookbooks. I take cooking back to the basics using common ingredients found in most kitchens. The recipes I work with all start with a recipe that I've either created myself or one that I've found, made changes to and simplified. When I simplify a recipe, I work with it until it comes out as close to the original recipe as possible but with fewer steps by using simpler ingredients. When I change a recipe, I make it fit my taste but also offer suggestions to make it fit the person cooking the dish's taste. I try to teach, especially young adults, to cook with their "taste buds."
